As it usually happens, Gary wrote to Inna an e-mail with his picture attached at the beginning of September 2001 for the first time, and he did not know whether she would answer him or not. He did not expect that Inna, a girl who attracted his attention from the first sight, would choose him among all the other men. As he told us later, coming to Volgograd: "She is a woman I always wanted to see in my house" and she liked his open smiling and charming face from first sight.
He was an engineer by profession and she worked as a shop assistant being a children's psychologist by education. He was a 37 y.o man from the USA, New York and she was 24 y.o. from Russia, Volgograd.
Their correspondence went on and Gary realized that it was not possible to postpone their meeting any more and despite all these events that took place in the USA on September 11, despite the fact that his relatives and colleagues advised him not to make this trip, he booked the hotel, bought the tickets, took a deep breath and went to his destiny, to his princess Inna! The agency provided all the services for him and took care of him during his stay in the city.
Gary arrived in Volgograd excited and full of anxiety to meet his lady and Inna was at home at that time, nervous but also excited. The agency did not take her to the airport because we understood that Gary was very tired after such a long trip and needed some rest, so the first meeting was scheduled for the next day.
Gary told us later: "I was looking through the window into the street and was thinking what to put on because I did not want to look like a foreigner. I managed to find something among my clothes resembling the way Russians dress. I did not want to scare Inna away".
Those days they spent visiting restaurants, doing some shopping, going on excursions to the museums, galleries, walking along the city, meeting Inna's parents - 6 days passed in a moment. Inna spoke practically no English, they used the services of an interpreter and Gary also tried to learn some Russian while Inna was picking up English, but this language barrier didn't stop them. Then time came for Gary to depart and it was hard for them as they got used to spending time together.
When Gary returned home he understood that Inna was in his heart. His days and nights were filled with thoughts about this amazing Russian lady. He couldn't but invite her to his place. So, Inna got a fiancée visa and left Russia for the USA. When her time was about to expire Gary made a proposal to Inna and they got married in the USA and now live in New-York city. They are very happy and sent us a grateful letter for helping them in meeting each other and creating a wonderful friendly international family.
