Every girl is dreaming about her Prince when she is in her twenties, but when you are 35, it requires a great deal of real courage to wait and believe. Those who are ready to make it are to succeed. Gala never lost faith that some day it was going to happen to her. She believed that there were so many things in life (such as education, carrier, self-development, etc.) to be taken care of until this moment came and she knew that she would feel it...
Last May our agency launched a new advertising campaign and all the staff came out on the streets to give out our flyers to Kharkov ladies. Gala was one of the women passing by. I noticed her at once by her clever and pure eyes and I felt that she desperately needed our help. It turned out that she did not believe in "artificial" acquaintance through the Internet; it took me some time to persuade her during our long conversations about life to try this opportunity.
We placed her profile on several sites and began to wait. The first letter she received really impressed her! After reading it she said that she felt it was Him she was waiting for all of her life. To say the truth, this young lady amazed us by her way of thinking and her approach. We gave her a piece of advice not to hurry and to take a look at the other letters. But she was absolutely confident and told us a wonderful spiritual theory about The First Comer, who is always sent by God. The theory is supposed to work when a lady feels ready to meet her second half and makes a wish, and asks God for help.
To prove this theory she reminded to us a well known fairy-tale about a Princess who did not want to marry anyone out of the huge number of her admirers. One day the King, her father, lost his temper and declared his will: the princess must go out on the road and the first comer she meets would be her husband! Of course, we remembered that story about the Princess and the Beggar as well as the happy end if it. Gala added: "Only God knows who is going to make me happy and vice versa." We were almost convinced.
Their correspondence was not intensive because both of them were quite busy with their jobs, but their letters were deep and extended. Six months later she wrote a letter that was more than frank. It was his turn to be impressed. Being a reasonable person, I asked her how she could make a "proposal" to a man she had never seen before. All of us in the agency became tense; we tried to persuade her not to send such a provocative letter - it could frighten him - but she did. She knew what she wanted and risked. Gala told him: "You will recognize Her too out of a thousand women by her words, her eyes and voice, Her portrait is deeply carved in your heart by the delicate aroma of joy...
Adrian decided to come to see Gala. They met for the first time in early April in Kiev. They spent five unforgettable days together and they felt completely happy with each other. When leaving he said that he needed time to get used to the situation when he was not alone anymore and that Gala was important to him... and promised to come again in a month.
Gala returned to Kharkov a little bit confused. Maybe she expected something more from their first date? We explained her that there was no reason to expect some passionate moves from a man from northern Holland. Most of men from northern countries are a bit reserved and never say things they are not sure of...
It was a matter of cultural peculiarities. She really loved him, but she was not sure if he really loved her. They needed time to clear up any misunderstandings. So when she received this "proposal" picture of his, she answered immediately: "Yes!"
