It is believed that one is to spend the whole year with the person, with whom he or she met the New Year. For the Russian woman Elena and the Austrian man Klaus this prophecy came true, not only for one year, but for the whole of their lives.
Dr Claus Strobl arrived to Russia from Austria just on the New Year's Eve, to meet a woman whose photo he saw on the Internet and whom he fell in love with. There were two months of daily correspondence, and then - a long-awaited meeting in the snow-clad and cold Russia. When Claus left the country, it was his bride that stayed in the land of Novgorod and not just a pen friend anymore.
 The festive wedding ceremony of Claus and Elena took place on the 25th May 2003 in the city of St. Valentine (!) in Austria. It was attended by the relatives and two girls, one of them - the daughter of Claus, the other - the daughter of Elena. The girls had already become friends and were glad that each of them would have a complete and real family.
The bride was very beautiful and Claus couldn't take his eyes off his future wife that radiated happiness. The landscape was dominated by the majestic Alps, which from that moment on were to become part of the Russian lady's daily reality.
This is how it all started. Elena, like many Novgorod women, had almost despaired to find her happiness, so she came to a marriage agency that was an affiliate of the international "Anastasia" agency. In just a couple of days, she was getting mail from many men from different countries of the world. Elena was enjoying the correspondence with many people that were also seeking a partner, but the letters of Claus stood out of the crowd. Why?
Probably her heart had told her that it was that special man she was looking for all that time. Her female intuition had not deceived her. When they met, they understood they were made for each other. Dr Claus immediately invited Elena to come to Austria to be his guest. After the trip, Elena and Claus had no doubts as to whether they should come together and become a family - it was love.
